Juego Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heores Wii. La saga Star Wars vuelve a aparecer en nuestras consolas, esta vez en representación de la sub-serie The Clone Wars, serie de animación que se sitúa temporalmente entre la segunda y tercera entregas de la nueva trilogía fílmica de George Lucas. La verdad es que las Guerras Clon representan uno de los puntos de inflexión históricos más importantes dentro de la saga, dado que es el momento que desencadena el nacimiento del Imperio y la matanza de cientos de Jedis, así como la conversión del indomable Anakin Skywalker en el malévolo Darth Vader. Esta relativamente nueva serie de animación, no obstante, ha sido criticada duramente por muchos de los incondicionales de la serie original, debido a algunas inconsistencias con el guión de la saga en la que se basa, y una calidad narrativa que, ciertamente, no está a la altura de las películas. Aún así, eso no tendría por qué afectar al desarrollo de los videojuegos basados en la misma. De hecho, la serie The Clone Wars ya cuenta con un par de videojuegos (Jedi Alliance, para Nintendo DS y Lightsaber Duels, para Wii), los cuales salieron en el momento del lanzamiento de la película de animación por ordenador que viera la luz a finales del año pasado. Pero, lamentablemente, los títulos basados en esta moderna sub-saga no han sido demasiado afortunados en ningún aspecto: los juegos han tenido poca aceptación de crítica y público, debido, en parte, a su mediocre apartado técnico y, por otra parte, a la insustancialidad de su narrativa respecto al argumento original de la que, probablemente, sea la serie cinematográfica con mayor número de incondicionales seguidores en el mundo de los videojuegos. La verdad es que la presente entrega de The Clone Wars podría haber constituido la redención que necesitaba Krome Studios para retomar la confianza de los jugadores de la actual generación de consolas (sus últimos títulos en plataformas como la Xbox 360 o la PS3, decididamente, no han dado la talla en muchos de sus aspectos). Lamentablemente, Héroes de la República vuelve a caer en los mismos errores que el resto de los videojuegos de la serie: una insustancial narrativa, una aventura un tanto descafeinada y un apartado técnico que parece más de la anterior generación de consolas que la presente. El berenjenal de las Guerras Clon El juego nos meterá dentro de la línea argumental perteneciente a los sucesos circundantes a las Guerras Clon, las cuales duran unos tres años en el universo de la saga Star Wars, en el espacio cronológico situado entre el año 22 y el 19 antes de la Batalla de Yavin (la batalla más importante de la Resistencia contra el Imperio en la saga principal de la Guerra de las Galaxias, dentro del marco del primer filme de la trilogía original). Deberemos enfrentarnos a un poderoso asesino y terrorista con todas las fuerzas Jedi a nuestra disposición, aparte del poderoso ejército clon. Nos enfrentaremos a personajes como Kul Testa o el Conde Dooku, y controlaremos a carismáticos personajes de la serie, como el legendario Obi-Wan Kenobi, el joven pero ya poderoso Anakin Skywalker, así como algunos de los integrantes del ejército clon, como el Sargento Kano o el soldado raso Switch.
